Lisa Osawamick's husband, Paul, took the day off so he could take care of baby Lillian while mom had her beauty makeover at A Touch of Class.

Sudbury Video - Northern Life's mommy makeover contest Osawamick, 32, who has four children, is one of the three winners in Northern Life's annual beauty makeover contest. Like the other mothers, Jordana Levac and Jennifer Laplante-Raymond, she has little time to spend on her hair and makeup.

Frank Marasco and his team of stylists went on a mission to give these ladies easy-to-care-for hairstyles that are flattering and stylish.

June Rumball, a senior director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, was recruited to demonstrate routines for pretty and polished makeup in minutes. She also showed the moms how to look glamourous for special occasions this holiday season.

Marasco cut her thick mid-length hair into a short chunky wedge with an asymmetric feeling. Her black hair was brightened with a reddish colour to bring out her warm skin tones.

Rumball showed Osawamick how to apply jewel-tone colours to look dymanic during the day and how to layer on more colour for a dazzling evening look. Her cheeks were brushed with a pretty pink colour and appleberry lipstick was added to her lips.

Jordana Levac, 27, has five children under age seven, three boys and twin girls. The youngest, Gabriel, is one. Her husband, Kevin, entered her name in Northern Life's contest.

"Jordana gave up working to home-school and devote all her time to the kids," he said.

She wanted to keep her hair long enough so she could just toss it up on busy mornings. She pointed to a photo of a model with a super straight, sophisticated Marasco cut with chic bangs. "I like this," she said.

Her hair, which is naturally light brown, was coloured a few shades lighter and partial highlights were added.

Rumball gave Levac some quick beauty tricks but decided to give her a little glamour using shades from the starlet collection such as crystalline, spun silk and sienna eye colour. Sunny spice cheek colour and plum lipstick and liner completed the look.

Jennifer Laplante-Raymond, 33, is a natural beauty. Her son Matthew wa born in August.

Her light brown hair has red highlights and has lots of body and natural wave. She has healthy skin and her idea of makeup is mascara and lip gloss. But she also wants to look like the young professional woman she is, especially when she goes back to work at the citizens,'' service centre in Hanmer next year.

Marasco cut off about two inches of hair to give her soft shaping in layers around the face. This style makes the best of the natural body in her hair or can be straightened with a flat iron.

Laplante-Raymond was impressed with the face in the mirror after Rumball showed her how to apply precious pink shadow on the base of her eyelids from the lashes to the brow bone, then apply raisin in the crease and outer corners of the eyes. (Lemongrass shadow can be added in the inner corners of the eyes to add a little extra glamour.) Shy blush was applied to her cheekbones with pink melon on the lips.

The moms were happy with the makeovers and said they feel confident they can go from fresh-faced to fabulous in minutes. They look like themselves, only better. (And their babies probably didn't even notice.)
