The president of Collège Boréal, Denis Hubert, and the president of the Sudbury Area Mining Supply and Services Association (SAMSSA), Jean-Marc Valade, have signed a memorandum of agreement between the college and the business association Dec. 6 during SAMSSA’s annual general meeting.

With this agreement, the college will provide to SAMSSA updated public profile information of all SAMSSA member organisations for use on the SAMSSA website. On the other hand, an industry advisory committee made up of SAMSSA members will meet twice a year to advise the college on strategic direction for educational programming and training.

During an address to SAMSSA members yesterday, Hubert reminded the group of the importance and advantages of working together.

“The expertise of SAMSSA members in services and supply to the mining industry is unparalleled and will be a great asset to Collège Boréal. We will use their advice to train workers who will specifically meet this sector’s expectations. It is a win-win situation,” said Hubert in a news release.
