In an age where everything is at our fingertips, is it any surprise that a mobile spa is just a phone call away?
“Most people do not have the time or money to spend a few hours at a spa, so BeautiControl Inc. brings the spa experience to them,” said Laurie St. Denis, a Sudbury consultant for the company.
BeautiControl Inc. is a subsidiary of the Tupperware company, and like Tupperware, representatives hold gatherings in customers’ homes.
BeautiControl Inc. coined these gatherings Spa Escapes. The complementary sessions usually last about an hour to an hour and a half. Spa Escape hosts receive a free gift after the party.
The company’s focus is on skin care, and with more than 400 products, they provide an array of choices for a variety of skin types, said St. Denis.
Spa Escape sessions include lip, eye and foot treatments as well as a sea salt hand treatment, and a warm neck wrap.
The goal is for men and women to relax while learning about the products in the comfort of their own homes, said St. Denis.
She suggests holding theme parties and will try to incorporate products to suit the theme.
“Why not host a spa and margarita party or maybe a bridal shower spa, or a spa-jama party?” she said.
Her next venture is to conduct “mini spas at work,” during lunch hour for interested companies and organizations.
St. Denis found out about BeautiControl Inc. after she developed a skin condition and a friend introduced her to the company’s line of skin care products.
In the heat and humidity of Africa, where she was living at the time, she put these cosmetics to the test. “I was immediately impressed, so I purchased an entire collection,” she said.
Upon returning to Canada in 2005, she become a consultant for BeautiControl Inc.
This line of cosmetics is not sold in stores, and are available only online or through consultants such as St. Denis, who said the products are comparable to higher priced brand name ones.
