The Regional Cancer Program (RCP) of the Sudbury Regional Hospital will hold an information session for students interested in cancer-related professions on Nov. 7 from 6 to 8 pm at the Cancer Centre.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our state-of-the art facility and heighten awareness of the wide array of professions that make-up our team at the Regional Cancer Program,” said Bertha Paulse, HRSRH Vice President of the RCP, in a news release.

“There will be plenty for the students to see at our facility, with tours of our research lab and radiation treatment area. Also, health care professionals will be on hand to answer questions and provide necessary information to help students make better informed decisions when choosing a career path.”

The career night is intended for secondary, post-secondary and medical students, guidance counsellors, teachers, and perhaps even professionals interested in making a career change. Information and representatives from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, Laurentian University and the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences will be at the event.

All are welcome to learn more about careers in nursing, radiation therapy, research, social work, nutrition, psychology and many other cancer-related fields.
