The Sudbury Wolves were defeated by their northern rivals the Soo Greyhounds Friday evening 3-1 in the final home game of the exhibition series.

The arena was packed with fans cheering in what proved to be an action packed game.
The first period had fans screaming and yelling as a fight broke out between Marcus Foligno and the Greyhounds Dylan King. Fists were flying and Foligno was egging the crowd to cheer louder and louder.

While the Wolves were trailing 2-0 with goals made by Behn Robertson and Matt Caria, fans got excited again as John McFarland scored a goal with 22.5 seconds left in the period.

The second period had fans chanting for goal tender Andrew Loverock yelling Love-Rock, Love-Rock over and over again as he continued to make save after save with plenty of scrambles in front of the net.

Loverock let one slip by with just under 35 seconds left in the second period with goal by Tomas Rachunek.

The end of the third period saw a total of 40 shots on net against the Soo's net minder Bryce O'Hagan and 33 shots on net against Loverock. Both goalies played extremely well.

Missing from the action were Eric O'Dell and Jared Staal who have gone off to NHL training camps.

The Wolves return home on Sept. 19 for the season home opener against the Oshawa Generals.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.
