Olivier: Sudburians should choose for Sudbury

If Sudburians crave positive change in this by-election, they won’t get it by voting for a candidate of any political party, independent candidate Andrew Olivier said in a news release this week.

If Sudburians crave positive change in this by-election, they won’t get it by voting for a candidate of any political party, independent candidate Andrew Olivier said in a news release this week.

“The major parties are treating Sudbury like a playground, this byelection like a game and Sudburians like pawns,” Olivier says in the release.

Sudburians sent a strong message last October when they elected an almost entirely brand new city council. The desire for honesty and accountability is there, and only Olivier can deliver that.

“Policy’s easy,” the independent candidate for MPP said during a recent all-candidates’ debate. “Honesty and truthfulness, that’s hard.

“Some of the people I’ve talked to think the logical choice, however distasteful and difficult, is to vote for someone in government. The truth is, the commitments to Sudbury have been made. Government is formed. Now we need an MPP who can hold Queen's Park accountable to deliver on these promises.”

For Sudburians who believe that integrity, honesty and truthfulness are important in your political representative, elect Olivier to ensure your voices are heard and that our community will have a strong voice at Queen’s Park. He has proven he isn’t scared to stand up for what he believes is right.

“If Sudburians want to continue what was started in October, the best way to do that is by sending an independent representative to Queen’s Park,” says Olivier. “My voice will be heard so much more than any other candidate, who will have to put party platforms ahead of Sudbury issues.

“As an independent MPP, my bosses – the people I answer to – is all of you. I want to put Sudbury issues first.”

In the spirit of the movie Groundhog Day, let’s not make the same mistake twice. Feb. 5 is your chance to Keep Sudbury Strong by voting for the candidate who will put your needs first!
