On Feb. 24 I performed my last "Scott Overton Morning Show" on AM 790 CIGM, after more than 21 years.

CIGM has been sold to Newcap Radio and its long history as a country music station will apparently end within the next few months. Rogers Radio decided to end my employment early, along with several long-time friends and co-workers.

I had no opportunity to say a "goodbye" to CIGM's devoted listeners, some of whom have been with me each morning for their whole lives.

I'd simply like to say that your loyalty and love for our radio station has meant the world to me. It was the reason I stayed for 21 years of nerve-wracking snow days, crazy contests, wild and woolly promotions, listener calls (happy and angry), special guests, unforgettable concerts and very much more. Through it all, your kind comments and honest affection kept me going. I know the rest of the CIGM on-air family feels the same way I do - it's been a privilege and an honour to have been a part of your life.

As Bob Hope used to say, thanks for the memories.
