Re: Article “Rolling into film,” which appeared in the Aug. 17 edition of Northern Life.

I really enjoyed the article you put together about our local youth and skateboarding. I know that some youths in our city have been trying to get an indoor skate park, to no avail.

It would benefit the community to have these kids off the street.

The one youth mentioned in the article, Chad Gagnon, just returned from the Camp of Champions in Whistler, B.C., where he received intense snowboarding training by Olympians.

Most of these kids not only skateboard, but are also avid snowboarders.

They could be our next Olympians. Our city needs to encourage this type of activity. One of those kids could put Sudbury on the map in the future.

Bravo to you for covering this story. We need to hear more from our youth in this city, not just the ones that are doing bad things, but those who are doing good.
