Unfortunately this commentary on health care and professionalism at Sudbury Regional Hospital will not make front or second page news in Northern Life.

However, I am requesting that you provide me an opportunity to express my sincere appreciation and thanks for the excellent and high calibre of professionals and state-of-the-art facilities at our new one-site hospital.

During August, I became a hospital patient requiring radiology, day surgery and in-patient services.

Without exception, the radiology, nursing and clerical staff were courteous, knowledgeable and proficient.

Although, I had great deal of fear, anxiety, unrelenting pain and discomfort, my recent experience as a patient at the Sudbury Regional Hospital was relatively uneventful and comforting.

It is reassuring to know that we have outstanding physicians, specialists and professionals at our new one-site hospital. Hats off to the administration.

B. Susil Greater Sudbury
