The Warmhearts Tree of Remembrance in support of Warmhearts Palliative Caregivers Sudbury/Manitoulin took place from Nov. 19, 2011 to Dec. 23, 2011 at the Southridge Mall and the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre.

More than 400 people in the community contributed to the success of the Tree of Remembrance by either volunteering their time or purchasing snowflakes for $10 in memory of lost loved ones.

Since 1986, Warmhearts Palliative Caregivers Sudbury/Manitoulin has been helping thousands of people living with a life-threatening illness by providing skilled compassionate volunteer-based home hospice palliative care.

Warmhearts also provides guidance and support to the circles of family and friends whose lives are so profoundly affected by a loved one’s illness or loss. With the ageing population and a rising number of people living with chronic illnesses, the demand for Warmhearts Palliative Caregivers’ services grows each year.

This year, the Warmhearts Tree of Remembrance raised more than $3,500 to support the programs and services offered by Warmhearts Palliative Caregivers Sudbury/Manitoulin. In addition, this event assisted in raising awareness of the services that Warmhearts offers in the community, and provided the people of the City of Greater Sudbury an opportunity to commemorate their lost loved ones.

Warmhearts Palliative Caregivers Sudbury/Manitoulin would like to extend its gratitude to those who helped make this event a success.
Please watch for the Warmhearts Tree of Remembrance in 2012.
