On behalf of the Diversity Advisory Panel, thank you for profiling the mandate of our panel in the March 20 edition of the Northern Life, to coincide with the UN’s International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
From a social justice standpoint, March 21 was an important day of awareness for every citizen of this beautiful and increasingly diverse city, and we are grateful for your interest.
Your newspaper responded with enthusiasm and showed a genuine interest in promoting the mandate of this panel. By placing the article on the edition’s front page, our purpose in promoting a cultural mosaic in Greater Sudbury, was given top priority in a bold and confident manner.
In doing so, Northern Life chose to speak out in support of diversity in an unapologetic and genuine way. We are grateful for your support.
In particular, I want to thank Heather Campbell for writing an encouraging article that was relevant and concise.
I have a tendency to talk too much, but Ms. Campbell was patient and was able to readily grasp the key points and translate that into a clear and balanced piece. She is a true professional, and we are the beneficiaries of her efforts.
The work of the Diversity Advisory Panel will continue and with that, we sincerely hope that the Northern Life will continue to value our initiatives in the City of Greater Sudbury.
