Re: Article “Janis Foligno’s ‘giving, caring’ spirit lives on,” which appeared on NorthernLife.ca Sept. 5.

Meals On Wheels (Sudbury) was surprised and delighted to have been one of the recipients of the Janis Foligno Foundation’s cheque presentation that took place at Pat & Mario’s Aug. 31.

A unique fundraiser called “Boobies, Burgers & Beers” was hosted by Pat & Mario’s, and the proceeds went to the charities most dear to the hearts of the Foligno family.

Janis Foligno, who lost her battle to breast cancer two years ago, had instilled values in her family that would help community support services continue their work with many recovering families.

Meals On Wheels (Sudbury) is thankful to the Foligno Foundation for its support. We would like to congratulate all other recipients for the gracious work they do in our community.

We would also like to thank the people of our community who never cease to amaze us all with their generosity. Thank you on behalf of the people we serve and support.

Keep a close eye on the Foligno Foundation for a number of exciting future fundraisers coming soon.
