Re: Article “Locally shot film a hit with Cinéfest crowd,” which appeared in the Sept. 18 edition of Northern Life.

My husband and I were very happy to attend the Cinéfest opening night gala “The Riverbank.” It was such a pleasure to see Sudbury landmarks, and know that more films are being produced here.

Kari Matchett, the lead female actress, told us that this was the best crew she had the experience of working with. We thoroughly enjoyed the film, with the exception of the expletives.

As we were leaving the theatre, I had a chance to talk to John L’Ecuyer, the director. I told him that the film had much merit, and that we would have enjoyed it more without the excessive use of the “F” word.

His answer to me was, “Sorry, I grew up in Montreal.” Whatever that means.
