Assuming that most human beings instinctively want what is best for the fragile life systems that have evolved on our little planet, then in what category do we place most politicians and captains of industry?
If you follow the news, you will be hard-pressed to find any corporate or political decisions where greed does not trump the best interests of our beautiful little planet and its billions of life forms.
Whether it be oil sands, fish habitat, pipelines that frequently break, overfishing or pollution in general, the power-brokers go greedily on their way as though protecting our wondrous home in space was not a sacred trust.
I have lived a long time, and cannot see an end to this myopic behaviour by our fearless leaders.
As long as we send little people filled with empty rhetoric to set the direction that humanity will take, there is little hope of turning things around.
It is very sad to thing that the future fate of our world lies in the hands of those we see squabbling over natural resources.
