The penny holds many wonderful memories for so many people. I would like to share my fondest penny memory, as this coin is now discontinued.

When my three children were in primary school, they saved all their pennies in special containers for a full year until December.

In December, all of the containers were spilled onto the floor and the children sat down, dividing the coins equally as I watched. They were going to use the pennies as part of their Christmas gift spending money.

A lovely sight to behold. I even took pictures as they divided those coins and we all enjoyed this fun experience.
