This afternoon, I was driving down Elm Street by the crosswalk at the city bus terminal. There was an elderly lady crossing and she had a cane.
She was inching her way across the two lanes, clearly trying to make her way as quickly as possible, but unsteady on her feet.
There was a car next to me. The driver, very much younger, was bopping along with the music, the bass thumping. This sweet young man hit the horn a few times, scaring the heck out of this poor little old lady.
You know, some day, if you are lucky enough to age and enjoy life, that little old person could be you. So you get to Tim Horton’s two minutes later than planned? Big deal. Be patient. Let people cross. Think of it as your community service contribution. It’s only a moment of your time.
