I have to chuckle after reading that article. Apparently all the powers that be — CP Rail, Vale and the city — are in agreement that the cost of moving the rails is prohibitive.
I also find the line “Imagine Sudbury has been promoting a rail relocation since 2009” amusing. Oh really?
I wonder how many of my fellow old-timer Sudburians remember the election for mayor way back in early 1960s? I still vividly remember the picture in the newspaper of Joe Fabbro standing at the railway tracks on Elm Street.
With paper and pen in hand, he looked pensively in the air, contemplating how to move those railway tracks.
Bottom line? This is not “new” news. Joe must be looking down and smiling at all this.
