It’s not only our residents who were aware of this, it was also conveyed throughout other cities. As a result of this, our city suffered and projects were delayed.
Most of the projects and ribbon-cutting ceremonies were initiated and carried out by previous councils.
The big question is what did our mayor and council do in the past three years? What initiatives were brought to council and fully completed? I truly believe that this would be a hard question to answer.
In order for our city to move forward, mayor and council must respect each other and work through their differences.
People do not have to agree with each others’ opinion, but it is important to listen and respect the topic that is brought forward without holding grudges.
If there are issues surfacing, they should be addressed and corrected in a professional manner prior to the next meeting without embarrassment. As a concerned citizen of this city, it is very sad to see and hear what’s going on at city hall.
Mayor and council spend more time correcting problems and scandals than focusing on the improvement of our community.
This is the final year of this council and not much more will be done other than the mayor and some councillors gearing up for the next election.
I hope that in 2014 our new council will work closer with the mayor with open doors, respect each other beliefs, and most importantly, consider the true needs of our community.
