It is with heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation that we would like to thank the Firefighter Combat Challenge Team for its overwhelming donation of $30,000 to the Sam Bruno PET Scanner Fund.
It is with heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation that we would like to thank the Firefighter Combat Challenge Team for its overwhelming donation of $30,000 to the Sam Bruno PET Scanner Fund.

The Firefighter Combat Challenge Team donated proceeds from its 2013 Firefighters’ Calendar to this very worthy cause. Your outstanding contribution has greatly impacted the campaign to acquire a PET scanner for our cancer centre.

As an essential diagnostic tool, it will assist in the diagnosis and staging of treatment for cancer, heart disease, and various neurological disorders ie. Alzheimer disease, Parkinson’s and epilepsy.

We would specifically like to thank Firefighter Combat Challege Team members Trevor Fera, Adam Blais, Jimmy Kolar and Ron Haché.

We’d also like to thank Cindy Popowich, who assisted with the staging of the firefighters, as well as James and Jocelyne Hodgins of James Hodgins Photography, who donated their time and award-winning skills to produce such a professional product, Troy Thompson of T2 Training, who advised and directed the Combat Challenge Team in their training, and Vince Roy of Royal Productions.

Your participation in this project is reflected in the words of Margaret Mead, a world famous anthropologist, who said “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
