Petty thieves steal windshield wipers

Sometime during the evening of Jan. 5, someone of obviously sub-human intelligence decided it would be a good idea to steal the windshield wipers from my truck.

I don’t care what path in life you have chosen to follow, if that path includes owning a car, then you can afford windshield wipers.

I know for a fact that two new wipers from NAPA in Lively costs $40. Had I come out to see all my windows busted and contents of the truck stolen I would’ve understood the effort, but for wipers? Come on.

Lively is not immune to petty crime. We had a mountain bike stolen from our storage shelter and neighbours have had shovels and rakes taken from their yards. It’s little stuff to the crooks, but a huge inconvenience to the victims.

Communities need to open their eyes and ears to what is going on, because we sure don’t get the police presence necessary to deter the knuckle-draggers from taking what they want, when they want.

I’m sure our community patrol vehicle is buried under snow in the parking lot as I type this. Keep your eyes peeled...no one else will do it for you.
