Consultants sucking money away from necessities

Just a quick, sad, almost desperate plea — does anyone we elected to council or appointed to our boards do their jobs? Let’s start off with the police board spending $60,000 for a consultant to look for a new chief.
Just a quick, sad, almost desperate plea — does anyone we elected to council or appointed to our boards do their jobs?

Let’s start off with the police board spending $60,000 for a consultant to look for a new chief. Then Health Sciences North spends $100,000 on rebranding. Not to be outdone, council itself adds $70,000 for a slogan.

Last but not least, we have hired a consultant to review the need for a new arena. No one on council is saying anything.

One brave councillor once told me that they use consultants so they can justify their actions. Wrong answer and wrong thought process here.

There is enough money spent here on consultants to assist many autistic children or single mothers and seniors just trying to live in what is becoming a cruel city.

I admit I was not appointed to any board, and likely for a good reason, but there are hundreds of thousands of dollars in reasons why those appointed shouldn’t have been. I just pointed out a few.
