School boards’ advertising costs must be high

I would be interested in knowing how much taxpayer money was spent this year by school boards enticing new students to attend their schools.
I would be interested in knowing how much taxpayer money was spent this year by school boards enticing new students to attend their schools.

I see full-page coloured ads in the newspapers, high-quality coloured flyers delivered to my door and electronic signs on The Kingsway. Now television ads have started to appear. These costs must be significant.

Notwithstanding English/French issues, all of these boards struggle essentially for the same students — a diminishing group. Are the taxpayers funding an educational system or are we helping boards build their respective empires?
