New security measures ‘another black eye’

Re: Article “Security most restrictive in the North,” which appeared in the March 4 edition of Northern Life.

What! Council secretly hired another bureaucrat to tell them what to do. This time it’s a Manager of Corporate Security no less, who obviously hasn’t matured past the point of believing or fearing northerners carry knives on their belts. Is this factual or is this part of the LOL Sudbury comedy show?

If factual, then it appears that our new uptight and prejudiced security manager is creating a situation to justify his new, unwarranted position and hefty salary that Sudburians can’t really afford right now.

Why was this hiring not justified or publicly announced? Surely there is no real need for this type of Pentagon-style security in Sudbury because of one or two peaceful demonstrations, nor any need for a new manager of corporate security.

What is going on a Tom Davies Square besides the usual dysfunctional relationship between our elected representatives and the mayor?

This is another absolute farce and one more installment from the unbelievable soap drama that is the City of Greater Sudbury political leadership. Another black eye for Sudbury once the national media picks this up.
