Bring valet service to hospital

Whenever the subject of Health Sciences North arises, the conversation usually focuses on the parking situation. Although it is usually available, parking involves walking for some distance in rain, snow, wind and cold.

This is very inconvenient and stressful for people, especially seniors, who must visit close relatives and friends on a daily basis, sometimes for weeks at a time.

It is probably too late to address the problem, but I would like to suggest an alternative. The option of valet parking would provide visitors with the luxury of dropping their vehicles off at the door, and picking them up there.

It could be run by the hospital itself or a private business. Yes, it would be more expensive, but everyone I have discussed this with seems to think it is a good idea.

So far, no one has objected to paying a higher parking fee for the ease and convenience it would provide. Once you’ve tried valet, there’s no other way.
