Letter: Not impressed with city services

When the sewers were installed on Algonquin Road, the city plunked a fire hydrant right in the middle of my lawn, which means the city has to open up the high banks in the winter.

Of course the snowplow sweeps down Colby and around the corner onto Algonquin Road and promptly fills it in again. While I was out this week, the city came and opened it up again.

However, they opened up a huge gully in the snow bank and piled huge amounts of snow on top of the bank, which was already dangerous when driving out of my driveway.

The yard is large so there was ample room to move the snow back. I called the city and my councillor and no response. I am not sure who I will vote for in the next election, but I’m sure who I will not vote for.

Recently I called the city as my garbage and my neighbour’s garbage was not picked up for two/three weeks.

To top it off, while this is a school zone, some must think it is a speeedway and act accordingly, making it even more dangerous.
