Letter: Feds selling public ‘snake oil’ on elections bill

I have been following Pierre Poilievre, the Minister of State for Democratic Reform, and his new elections bill for some time.
I have been following Pierre Poilievre, the Minister of State for Democratic Reform, and his new elections bill for some time.

Not being fully knowledgeable on the way our elections have been run for a long time, but well aware of when I am being sold snake oil, I tend to pay attention to those who are experts in the matter.

That includes those who have run Elections Canada and well-respected people such as Sheila Fraser who has come down very strongly on what she calls an attack on our democracy.

More and more I see a government who wants a one-party state and is willing to use any effort good or bad to get it.

Poilievre, who apparently thinks he is going to ram this down our throats whether we like it or not, better beware the public who he constantly says are backing his bill and who appear to be doing anything but.

In closing I have to ask where the media is on this outrageous bill when they should be all over it.
