In its 17th year, the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) Hockey Tournament, in support of various charities, is still going strong.
In its 17th year, the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) Hockey Tournament, in support of various charities, is still going strong.

The tournament has raised approximately $70,000 to help make dreams for kids come true through the Sunshine Foundation and to support Northern Ontario Families with children with Cancer.

Last year, the local infant food bank was added as a charity.

On the second weekend of April every year, more than 450 players on teams from Timmins to Toronto flock to Sudbury to join local area teams and compete in three days of hockey.

The teams gather for an informal pizza night on the Friday and a more formal banquet on the Saturday night. A DJ ensures the couples have lots of good music to dance to.
