Letter: Too many distracted drivers

We live on Brookside Road in Chelmsford, across from E.S.C. Champlain. We often complain about the traffic, but when I went for a walk yesterday, I realized that it’s not just on our street.

The traffic on Errington Avenue is also quite fast. Another thing I noticed is there are a lot of people either texting or talking on their phones while driving.

If you want to put your own life at risk, that’s one thing, but when you put everyone’s life in danger with your selfish acts, then that’s a whole other ball game.

We all have the right to live and want to live. It’s not your right to take it away from anyone with these selfish acts.

The text message or the voice mail will still be there when you get to your destination. It is really worth risking another person’s life for that? So the next time you buckle your seat belt, turn off your phone and save a life.
