Re: Article “Councillor suggests Sudbury needs dog poop deputies,” which appeared on NorthernLife.ca May 1.

I agree with the councillors’ views on dogs on leashes and poop and scoop. I am an avid trail walker, and see so many dogs let out of vehicles to run, with the owners not even carrying a leash.

They walk right past the bylaw sign. Dog urine and poop is plentiful.

When sitting and enjoying lunch in the bush, dogs have walked up to us, and the owners could not control them. Why do I have to put up with that?

Why even allow dogs in parks anyway? The Laurentian walking trail is a conservation area apparently, so why allow dogs to mess that up and scare away the wildlife, which I have seen?

Do you enjoy being at the beach after a dog has pissed on the park bench or on the grass? Do you allow your child to walk in the sand that a dog just pooped on?

The city made an off-leash park. Take your dog there. Those who choose not to are usually the ones who do not pick up their dog’s poop.
