Letter: Trudeau’s abortion ultimatum could cost him support

Canada is one of only four countries in the entire world, along with North Korea, China and Vietnam, to have no restrictions on abortions, according to a new report from the Charlotte Lozier Institute. Yes — North Korea, China, Vietnam and Canada.

Yes — North Korea, China, Vietnam and Canada. That is the company that we are in.

Perhaps that’s why Liberal leader Justin Trudeau feels justified in declaring that there is no room in the Liberal Party of Canada for any candidate who believes in the sanctity of life, or who disagrees with his position on abortion-on-demand.

People have a right to their opinions on such an emotional and important issue. But Trudeau’s ultimatum may well result in large numbers of Canadians who disagree with his view changing their party affiliation.

So far, we have: legalize pot, kick Senators out of the Liberal caucus, joke about deadly international conflicts and refuse any Liberal candidate who has a pro-life opinion. I can’t wait to hear what comes next.
