Letter: Volunteers’ effort makes nursing home event a success

On June 25, the Elizabeth Centre opened its doors to the community in honour of Seniors’ Month.
On June 25, the Elizabeth Centre opened its doors to the community in honour of Seniors’ Month. This long-term care home, owned by Jarlette Health Services, is located in the heart of Val Caron and was the site of a barbecue, classic car show, entertainment by Brad Rose and free massages.

This grand event could not have been made possible without the generous donations from local vendors. We would like to thank Val Est Metro, Neil’s Independent Grocers and Val Caron M&M Meats for donating food for the barbecue.

Also, a big thank you goes out to Knights of Columbus Council 10602 for donating their time and assisting with cooking all the food.

Our residents, staff, family members and guests were able to sit and relax thanks to the skilled hand of Everest College massage students.

The owners of the classic cars proudly displayed their treasures.

Thanks again for all that helped. You truly helped to make a difference in the lives of others.
