With their philosophies of dictating their whims and fancies, local bureaucrats are destroying a lot of situations where residents could and would enjoy a better life in the community.
My wife and I have been camping at the city’s Whitewater Lake campsite, and this is our fourth year. On Aug. 2, it’s our 60th year of married life.
Our eight children have decided to come and camp with us, and have invited our families and friends for a social “wine and cheese” Aug. 2 between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m.
Upon enquiring with the city, they were told they needed a liquor licence, a fence around the perimeter of the wine and cheese area and insurance.
As a family and a group of families paying dues to be on site, wanting to enjoy and appreciate family and community life, we are imposed conditions creating ridiculous undue hardship to all concerned.
Today, there seems to be a movement to make a wholesale change in our elected municipal reps. By what is happening in all city departments, the change should be with the staff on the city payroll.
