Letter: Beware ‘negative’ candidates

Sudbury is facing a very important local election. We must elect a mayor that can build a team working through consensus. Beware of the candidates who promise to do this and that alone.
Sudbury is facing a very important local election. We must elect a mayor that can build a team working through consensus.

Beware of the candidates who promise to do this and that alone. It would be sad to have a negative mayor, someone who can only find wrong with everything.

Candidates that accuse council of being an old boys club do not recognize the efforts of the very hard-working women who have served on council. Beware of those candidates. They will probably become head of their own old boys club.

There are two candidates that fall into that category, as per their past experience. They could only find wrong while giving pie in the sky unreasonable solutions. Beware.

We also have a candidate coming to Sudbury on a white horse to save us poor northerners. It is not easy to save a community unless a person has lived as part of that community for years.

Mayors must have experience, be team builders, a leader, positive, willing to compromise and listen to others.

Come on, Sudbury. We do not need negative candidates. It is time to move ahead.
