Letter: Only 35K Sudburians voted to deregulate store hours

Did Sudbury vote for change? Mayor Matichuk’s first item on the agenda four years ago was the deregulation of store hours. Our new mayor elect, Brian Bigger, says that the first item on the agenda this year will be the deregulation of store hours.
Did Sudbury vote for change? Mayor Matichuk’s first item on the agenda four years ago was the deregulation of store hours.

Our new mayor elect, Brian Bigger, says that the first item on the agenda this year will be the deregulation of store hours. I wonder how the new council will vote.

Only around 35,000 Sudburians out of around 117,000 possible electors and a population of around 160,000 supported the deregulation of store hours. Not a very big mandate. Only time will tell. Numbers can be manipulated to serve any agenda.
