Letter: Sudbury needs welcome centre

I would like to see the Chamber of Commerce spend less time fighting for extended store hours and more time pushing for welcome centres at the major entrances to the City of Greater Sudbury.

Incoming tourists need to be informed about our major attractions. A city like ours, with a population of 160,000-plus residents, should have these centres.

Perhaps we could get suggestions from the people in Pointe-au-Baril. Though they have a much smaller community, they have a centre to greet and inform new visitors.

They have it right.
