Letter: Owl encounter a spiritual experience

I sent you the photo of the Snowy owl last week.
I sent you the photo of the Snowy owl last week. Since that picture was published on the front page of Northern Life, many people have contacted me for questions and permission to come and look into my backyard for a possible sighting of the majestic bird.

I have not seen him since then and truly believe his message was delivered and understood. I have not spoken to anyone since then, the reason being that I respect the visit that I had from this beautiful creature.

You see, I am of the Ojibway culture, born and raised on Dokis First Nation, a small village between Sudbury and North Bay along the shores of the French River. It’s a quiet, beautiful touristic community with many wonderful friends and family.

I was raised to respect and honour all animals and birds for they have a special place in the Creator’s world.

I believe the snowy owl landing and allowing me to take his photo has given him permission to look into my Spirit and help me on this Earth journey.

I currently don’t practise any religion nor am I involved in any group. I just truly believe that everything in life happens for a reason. Getting a visit from this rarely seen creature says to me he had a message to deliver and I have received it.

Now, it’s entirely up to me to act upon it. He has shared his spirit and wisdom with me, and I have the greatest respect for him stopping to share his voyage with me.
