Transit schedule too limiting for some workers, shifts

The taxation centre, as it is known, opened for its first tax season in the spring of 1982.

It is one of the largest employers in sudbury. The doors open for business at 7 a.m., and yet there is no bus for employees living on Copper Street to get to work until 7:30 a.m. This is the earliest anyone that has to make a connection can get to work.

I am sure there are other streets that have the same issues and we live in Sudbury, not one of the many outlying towns that are also part of the city of Greater Sudbury.

Also, there is only one bus that comes to the centre at the end of the day, and that is only at 3:30 p.m. Employees leaving work at 5 p.m. must get across lanes of busy traffic on Notre Dame Avenue to catch a bus to make their connections.

This is ridiculous for one of our largest employers that has been open for 33 years now.
When is the city and Sudbury Transit going to get with the times? If they want us to be more energy efficient, they should start with more bus routes for our larger employers.
