Letter: Canadian veterans deserve the best

Once again we learn about some brave young man returning from war (and it is war) and taking his own life. All I want to know is that our Canadian government did everything they could have to help this hero.

I don’t care what it costs. We as Canadians must be prepared to take care of these veterans for a month, a year or the rest of their lives.

How can we send them off to war and let them experience things we only see in movies and expect them to come back home and get back to their normal lives?

When I hear about veterans being denied benefits, it boils my blood. They deserve better and we should demand it.

I hope everything possible was done for Sgt. Jesse Tait. He deserved it, fighting for our way of life. Rest in peace, brave soldier.
