Editor’s note: The following is an open letter to the members of the Korean Veterans Association.

It is with mixed emotions that I write to you today.

I express the sincere regrets of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 76, on the announcement that the local branch of the Korean Veterans Association will relinquish its charter due to declining enrolment and participation.

We, the members of RCL Br. 76, are extremely proud of your contributions to our country, the United Nations, and the citizens of our world at a time when armed conflict seemed the only course to bring about resolution.

You have served your country and the cause of peace well and we are extremely proud, too, of all that you bring to the table and offer as service as members and supporters of our branch.

We understand the reasons, after much deliberation and soul-searching, for your decision.

We wish you well as we continue to offer support and comradeship at the branch.

Branch 76 executive
David Petrynchyn,
president
