The Lions Eye in the Sky advisory board would like to thank our community partners: the Lions Club of Sudbury, the Downtown Business Improvement Area, Coun. Joscelyne Landry-Altmann and Coun. Fern Cormier, as well as former Coun. Frances Calderelli and the Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Greater Sudbury Police Service Nickel Model of Community Mobilization is very much evident in practise with the Lions Eye in the Sky Camera Program. Recently, the cameras played an integral role in the positive outcome of a barricaded person’s incident.

Police were able to resolve the situation peacefully without harm to any citizens.

The cameras afforded the police a real-time view of the situation, and enabled crucial decisions to be made, in order to resolve the situation successfully.

The Lions Eye in the Sky’s commitment to keeping our community safe is a top priority.
