Letter: That time a pirate fixed an ingrown toenail

My daughter, Alysha, who is six years old, developed an ingrown toe nail, which needed to be removed. In order to do this, the toe needs to be frozen.

Of course, like any other six year old, my daughter panicked at the sight of the needle, and we left with unfinished business.

We went back April 23. The minute we walked into the doors, the environment changed and Alysha was more than ready to do it.

The staff had all dressed up, Alysha had her own little fairy toe Godmother bring her to the back. Dr. Kareem, the one who did the procedure, dressed up as a pirate train conductor.

Alysha was obviously still terrified of the needle, but after a few fights, the toe was frozen, and the procedure was done.

This was all done during staff lunches.

What I’m getting to, is that these people from Desimone Foot and Ankle Centre went out of their way to make my little girl a happy girl when she left.

They sang songs, danced a few dances, and all was done.

Definitely an act of heroism.

They are a great staff, and a huge thank you. They should really be proud of themselves.
