Being a Sudburian and a Canadian, I realize how fortunate and blessed the vast majority of us are to be living right now in such a peaceful, prosperous, law-abiding and stable country.

As I watch the news on TV and read the newspapers, it becomes obvious that many people in other countries today are experiencing horrors and economic difficulties so devastating they prefer to risk all and flee their countries which are dangerous, lawless, corrupt and out of control.

Canada is a great country to live in, and this is not something that has occurred by chance. Thanks to the priorities and policies of our present Federal government, the Conservative Party of Canada, and the integrity and vision of our Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, we have been, are and will continue to be safe and secure. The majority of Canadians thought so in 2011, and they were right.

Please keep this in mind on Election Day Oct. 19, 2015.
