Taken aback by 'narrow-minded' view of marriage

Wow. What a narrow-minded view of the world Ms. McGee has.

By her logic, you must be Christian to get married. Not Muslim, not Buddhist, Islamic or even Hindu.

All of these religions allow, and support marriage without a belief in Christ. Does this make all of these unions invalid, because they have a different opinion? Hardly.

A belief in Christ is not a prerequisite for marriage. Certainly love is, though. A person’s gender has no bearing on who, or how they love. And if they choose to marry a person of the same sex, why on earth does that make a difference to Ms. McGee? Or anyone else?

If Ms. McGee thinks Christian churches don’t support gay marriages, then maybe she should take a look at the United Church. Being gay does not exclude you from having faith. It might make your faith stronger by the welcome you receive.

Time to open your eyes, and your mind.
