Peacekeeping, not war, says writer

We must return to peacekeeping. The old order where any movement by the West or the East would be counteracted by the other side kept the peace. It prevented a country from invading another and destabilizing the region.

We must return to peacekeeping.

The old order where any movement by the West or the East would be counteracted by the other side kept the peace.

It prevented a country from invading another and destabilizing the region. It forced the locals to solve their own problems and prevented the violence from spreading.

The attacks we see in Kenya, Beirut, Paris, Boston and in Canada are from people angry about intervention.

Paris wasn’t the first or the most violent one, and it’s been building for some time. Was it deserved? No. But it was coming.

We must return to peacekeeping and not interfere by warplanes and such blatant acts of violence. After all, it was a wise man 2,000 years ago who said it best: “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.”
