Reducing garbage amount not fair to everyone

How can Mayor (Brian) Bigger and councillors expect a family of six to produce the same amount of garbage as a smaller family? It’s just not fair.

Garbage pickup in Greater Sudbury won't be changing anytime soon, following a close vote Monday at city hall. Members of the operations committee voted 4-3 in favour of keeping the status quo at least until 2021. File photo.

It’s just not fair.

Even now, with a three bag limit, my neighbours (an older couple) let us (a family of six) occasionally put one of our extra bags of garbage on their side of the driveway.

We try to recycle as much as possible, but how can six people produce the same amount of garbage as two?

Then they want to change garbage pickup from once a week to every second week?

I don’t think so.

I can already see the bears having a picnic in my backyard and piles of garbage dumped in the bush.
