Letter: Setting the fact straight on UAV education

I read the original article on UAVs with interest, and then saw the followup note from a reader.

I wanted to clarify with you that Transport Canada currently does not have certified training schools in Canada as your reader had stated.

Transport Canada has a minimum knowledge requirement document that UAV pilots must know and also have the minimum $100,000 in insurance.

There is a public video on our website that is about 30 minutes in length, which describes the current rules and regulations.

Your article had directed your readers to the Transport Canada website for clarification, but the site is not well laid out and not user friendly when it comes to understanding the current rules and regulations. This is why we created our short video to do just that.
