The city's chief of police has won a 2006 Ontario Medical
Association's Community Service Award. Greater Sudbury
Police Services Chief Ian Davidson is one of six recipients in
the province of the award, and he is recognized for his
significant contribution to the health and welfare of Sudbury,
and his continued hard work and dedication to this cause.
The Sudbury & District Medical Society (SDMS), a branch
society of the Ontario Medical Association, presented Davidson
with this prestigious award at the annual Docs on Green Charity
Golf tournament earlier this year.
The group notes Davidson's involvement in the Northern
Ontario School of Medicine Bursary Committee, the Sudbury Food
Bank, the Human League, the Sudbury Lung Association, and The
Alzheimer's Society.
The Greater Sudbury Police Services Board congratulated Davidson on his award at the recent board meeting.
