"Today's country is mainstream and today's country is hot," said Paul Larche, president of Larche Communications Incorporated at a recent press conference announcing KICX 91.7 FM radio in Sudbury.

fdafdsa The audience got a chuckle when Larche inadvertently referred to the launch of Q91.7 FM on Monday morning at 7 a.m.

This slip was a blast from the past as in the course of his 33 year career in radio, Larche was Sudbury's General Manager of Telemedia's new stations in 1986. During his four year stay in Sudbury the company launched Q92.

General Manager of KICX 91.7 FM, Mick Weaver, said he was ecstatic to be involved in this exciting new project and very happy to move his family back to their hometown.

Larche Communications Incorporated also owns KICX 106 in Orillia, KICX 104 FM in Midland, and will soon have a fourth station in Owen Sound.

While the brand new facility at 60 Elm Street is not quite finished, the sound room is. Morning co-hosts Shannon Dowling and Luke Nugent kicked off Sudbury's new country station Aug. 18 at 7 a.m.
