Vale Inco Hospice marketing manager Jennifer Grooms and executive director Léo Therrien, enjoy the view from the hospice terrace. The pair, as well as hospice staff and volunteers, are getting ready for the annual RBC Hike for Hospice.

The event, held on May 2, starts at the William Bell Gazebo in Bell Park. Registration begins at noon and the hike starts at 1 p.m. Last year, more than 500 participants raised $65,000 in donations. This year’s goal is to raise $70,000. The money helps cover the hospice’s operational costs.

The hospice needs to raise $700,000 per year to ensure its services remain free of charge for residents and their families. Pledge forms are available at all RBC branches in the Sudbury area and on the Hospice website.

For more information phone the Hospice at 674-9252 or go to www.maisonsudburyhospice.org.
