Comedian Howie Mandel headlined the LOL Comedy Festival at the Sudbury Arena May 28.

Mandel, who has been in the show business for more than 30 years, hosts the NBC television show Deal or No Deal and is known for hosting The Howie Mandel Show.

The comedian's career includes television, film and stage.

He started his career in 1979 when he tried his luck on a dare at an amateur night at a comedy store.

He continues to perform as many as 200 concerts a year throughout the United States and Canada.

Later on May 28, Canadian comedian Jon Dore, along with Judy Croon, Rob Pue, Alan Park and host Jean Paul performed as part of the festival at Laurentian University's Alphonse Raymond Auditorium.

Dore is known for his work in television such as Comedy Now, The Comedy Network and The Jon Dore show.
